June 30 Referral of two boys from Kaliningrad region. 5 and 7 years old. Adrian was in Burlington, MA, at the time. Carol is overcome with emotion from the pictures sent. How do you calm someone from 800 mi away?

Here's a picture:
Eugeny and Alexander

July 5 Received more info on the boys. They are approx. 5 and 7 yrs old; been in the system for almost 5 yrs (really sad if you think about it).
We agreed to accept the referral and begin the process of planning a trip.

July 7 Applied for visa via ruscon.org

July 8 Flights, hotel and other arrangements ... planning in full force. Flights are now $1500 per ticket due to high vacation season in Europe (rah-rah). Kaliningrad planning is done by the agency so this helps a bit, however, not knowing the details is not good for Adrian's mentality. We're burning some Marriott rewards points in Moscow ... staying here.

July 14 Visa arrives; passports in order.

July 16-23rd Continue with the journal ...
